NEWC Vermont Trip 2008
Sunday, August 10, and Monday, August 11, 2008
Bus Trip to see:
Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, Vermont
Birds of Vermont, Huntington, Vermont
Ben & Jerry's, North Waterbury, Vermont
Chainsaw Carvings, Marshall Enterprises, Waterbury Center, Vermont
The New England Wood Carvers invite you to join us for a two day trip to Vermont on August 9 and August 10, 2008. Our itinerary includes traveling by bus from Bedford, Massachusetts to Shelburne, Vermont.
On the way to Shelburne, we will stop in Huntington, Vermont at the Birds of Vermont Museum. Then, we will proceed to Shelburne and the Museum and Farm. As evening approaches, we will check into our motel in the south Burlington area. Our group will enjoy a dinner and entertainment in a nearby restaurant. On Saturday, after breakfast we board our bus for Ben & Jerry’s. This stop will provide us with a tour of the factory and samples to sustain us. There is also nearby, in Waterbury, a large chain saw display of custom carvings and a gift shop.
Ongoing carving activity can be observed.
The Shelburne Museum, consists of thirty-nine galleries and historic structures.
Spread over 45 acres, the buildings house diverse collections of fine and folk art and artifacts depicting early New England life. (per AAA).
For our New Hampshire and Maine friends, the bus will make a stop at the Park and Ride in Concord, NH either
# 18 or # 19 for your convenience.
We anticipate the cost of the bus, Shelburne museum, Birds of Vermont, dinner, Ben & Jerry’s tour and overnight accommodations to be two hundred and fifty dollars per person. This figure is based on 2007 room rates, and
double occupancy. With more than twenty people on the bus the price will decrease.
Book your reservation for the NEWC Vermont Trip of 2008, by contacting Paul Ward - mpaulward@comcast.net or Mary Chouinard - crewsculler@aol.com or 508-359-6095.
Please include the following information: First and Last Name, Street Address, City, State, ZIP, Phone, and e-mail address.
We look forward to you joining us on our venture to Vermont on August 8 and 9, 2008.
