Mystic Carver's Club weekend with Wayne Barton

March 15-16, 2008
The Mystic Carver's Club will sponsor a weekend with Wayne Barton of the Alpine School of Woodcarving. For those who do not know, Wayne is one of the best Chip Cavers. He is scheduled to come to Mystic on March 15 & 16. The cost will be $150. 2008 CCA Carve Along East - Rhode Island

2008 CCA Carve Along East Sponsored by the Mystic Carvers Club.
The Mystic Carvers Club is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 2008 CCA Carve Along East.
The site will be the Alton B. Jones Annex of the University of Rhode Island. A Package price of $340.00 has been set, which includes the classes, room and board.

NEWC Bob Guge Workshop

October 15, 16, 17, 18 – 2008
Location: Middlesex Community College, Bedford, Massachuesetts

Bob Guge, World Class Sculptor will teach a four day workshop.

***Carve and paint a blue bird***

Class size limited to 20 students
All levels of experience are welcome
Workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration will be on a first – received basis.
Students to use hand tools, rotary micromotor preferred, hand paint brushes, and acrylic paint

Only $295.00
Fee covers instruction, wood material, a Bob Guge cast, beverages and food items during each workshop day

About the instructor
Bob Guge is a world class carver who resides in Sleepy Hollow, Illinois. His career as an artist has spanned over thirty years. He is a much sought after instructor who travels across the country giving carving and painting seminars as well as holding classes at his studio----the Guge Institute Of Wildlife Art in Gilberts, Illinois.

Bob has co-authored several books on bird carving and painting. For more than a decade he has worked on a series of sculptures for the Danbury Mint in Connecticut, as well as original carvings for Big Sky Carvers in Montana. Bob has captured many prestigious awards including five ‘best in world’ titles at the Ward Foundation World Championships in Ocean City, Maryland. His sculptures are included in the permanent collection of Wildfowl Art Museum in Salisbury, Maryland, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin, and many private and corporate collections in the world.

What a deal-----this is the first time Bob will be traveling to New England.
