2024 Spirit of Wood Show Information

The 2024 competition will be held at The Carousel Museum 95 Riverside Ave. Bristol, Connecticut 06010 on Sunday, October 20th.

Please park at 119 Riverside Ave.

Registration is on the 19th from 1pm to 3pm, AND on Sunday the 20th from 7am to 9:30am.

Judging will start at 9:30 sharp. Late entries will not be eligible for judging or prizes.

Open to the public Sunday, October 20th at 10am.

A bucket contest featuring items donated from vendors as well as member carvings takes place throughout the day on Sunday.

Seminars on Sunday are TBD, but will cover interesting topic related to our woodcraft.

Vendors usually include MDI Woodcarvers Supply and others selling quality tools, materials, woodcarvings and wood such as basswood, tupelo, and butternut.

Carving Clubs from all around New England will be available. Meet the members and watch live demonstrations throughout the day.

ONLY FILL OUT THE INFORMATION YOU ARE SURE OF. If you are uncertain about any part of the form, leave that part blank and the volunteers on the day of the show will help you.
Registration sheets will also be available at the show and can be filled out there.
Consider filling out the form in advance particularly if you plan to register during the short registration period on Sunday morning.

World-Class Guest Judges!
Laurie and Mike Truehart
Laurie is a world-class carver receiving multiple awards both here in the United States and in Canada.
Laurie is also a writer for Wildfowl Carving Magazine and was feature on the cover of the Fall 2012 issue
for her life-sized Barred Owl. Laurie recently judged and competed at the Ward World Championship
Wildfowl Carving Competition in Ocean City, Maryland.
Mike is a multimedia artist with over 30 years of experience. Being an integral part of the Truehart team,
Mike has judged many events and also runs workshops and seminars. Serving on the Ward World
Judging staff for the past 20 years, Mike has developed a judging style that offers helpful critiques while
continuing to inspire artists to improve their carving skills.
